Spring Reigns Supreme

Spring is my favorite holiday… I mean season. After what feels like an endless winter (looking at you, White Witch), spring truly feels like a late Christmas gift. Here in Colorado, we are used to chilly temperatures, the occasional two-foot snowstorm, and the trademark Colorado sunshine. This can feel like a bit of an oxymoron–  sun-soaking in a blizzard– but that is a pretty standard Colorado activity.

During the winter, many Coloradans and tourists flock to our nature-based winter activities (i.e., skiing, snowboarding, hot springing, etc.). They are all nuts. I am a firm believer that snow is meant to be enjoyed from INSIDE. This is why Spring is my favorite season.

Look at it from my lens: Winter is dead and lifeless, Summer is hot and sweaty, Fall is a slow reminder that we are walking back to dead and lifeless. Spring, however, is the light at the end of the tunnel. What was once dead comes to life– flowers blooming, birds chirping, crisp air, and green trees. Spring is a reminder that nothing lasts forever, and a seed has to die to sprout new life.

There it is! My argumentative TED Talk on why Spring is the best holiday season. I am biased and preferential, but all seasons are special. Just not as special as Spring. 😛

Blessings,

Taylor
