Same Year, New Me!

My favorite holidays always have a hint of celebration – the Fourth of July, Christmas, Birthdays, and especially New Year’s. This is in large part due to the sparkly lights, exploding colors, and a good excuse to dress up. Beyond that, though, each one of these days comes with its unique flavor of joy.

Let’s take New Year’s Day, for example. After the partying settles, we often take time to reflect on the year before and create a vision for the year ahead. How often do we simultaneously create a space to grow from our shortcomings, and move forward towards our dreams?

Do you remember the goals you set for the New Year? If not, no big deal! This question does not come with judgment, just a reminder that you are more than capable of achieving the goals that you set for yourself.

If you strayed away from your resolutions, I will encourage you to ask yourself these questions:

  1. Do these goals still align with the vision I have for my life?
  2. If yes, what is one thing I can do this week to get back on track?
  3. If not, what are new goals I can set for myself that are more aligned with my desired future?

Living a goal-oriented life allows us to continuously work towards a hopeful future. Your goal-setting does not need to end at the New Year! Let’s create a practice where we regularly check in on our goals and adjust them to fit our vision as it evolves.

Sincerely,

Taylor
